Las Migas: Spain's Folksy Flamenco Foursome

Buy Tickets $15 $30

Something special happens when the four ladies of Las Migas pick up their nylon-string guitars and violins and launch into soulful multi-part harmonies. Much more than the sum of their parts, Las Migas bring fiery passion to their signature blend of Flamenco and Mediterranean rhythms -- a fusion of raw power and spunky playfulness that's earned them a loyal following and spots at some of Europe's top folk music festivals. You don't need a passport to catch Las Migas live in concert: the Spanish quartet is bringing their infectious Flamenco sound to Portland's Winningstad Theatre.

Folk Legend Tom Paxton and the DonJuans

Buy Tickets $18 $28

An American folk icon, Tom Paxton graces the Alberta Rose stage with his original and timeless folk-song repertoire, classic voice and presence. Paxton has become a voice of his generation, addressing issues of injustice and inhumanity, laying bare the absurdities of modern culture and celebrating the tenderest bonds of family, friends and community. As Pete Seeger said, "Tom's songs have a way of sneaking up on you. You find yourself humming them, whistling them, and singing a verse to a friend. Like the songs of Woody Guthrie, they're becoming part of America." The DonJuans is the long-awaited performing duo comprised of Grammy-winning songwriters Don Henry and Jon Vezner. Enjoy this folk concert at Portland's Alberta Rose Theatre.
