Solar eclipses occur more frequently than most people know, but most of them occur primarily or entirely over the ocean! In addition, most eclipses are partial, and it's rare that a total eclipse passes over a part of the earth that is developed, accessible, and part of a world-renowned wine region!
On Monday, August 21st, 2017, just such an event will occur, when a total eclipse lasting around 2 minutes will occur right over top of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley. The ancients commemorated such events, and we do the same, following up this once-in-a-lifetime experience by touring local wineries and indulging in some of the best pinot noir available.
This guided tour includes transportation to eclipse event site near Salem, OR in motorcoach or 20-passenger mini-bus from downtown Portland. Once we arrive you will get entrance to the eclipse viewing party hosted by Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.'
